Smooth - The parade

Smooth é um trio francês constituido por David Darricarrère, Nicolas Berrivin, Christophe Declercq. Este ano lançaram o terceiro álbum, The parade. Dão-nos com uma electrónica que vai do Synth-pop ao trip-hop, passando pelo downtempo e pela indie. Um álbum bastante agradável. Roubado do seu site oficial, deixo isto:

"Friendly Yours starts off this new album The Parade at a fast and wild pace, taking along its world and its patients to follow the trail of a group who knows how to explore its desires and to translate them into real melodies. You have the strange impression when listening to Smooth’s music of finding an old friend , a road companion because their music draws on our own imagination there where it moulds itself , each day , each rainy season , with pleasure or ecstasy . The trio borrows and mixes sounds and rhythms from their forefathers, displayed and put back together with inventiveness, jubilation, sensuality .

The Smooth touch also includes brass instruments, and that’s where these musicians from Nantes are clever to have used them to their full dimension. Dominique A develops his lyric voice on the track (I know) sung as a duo to the image of Amélie, an unknown singer who shouldn’t be for long, judging by Music a piece of infinite class. Maybe we touch precisely in this Music, the essence itself, the trio’s style. Everything is there. Other ears will tell us. With Another Life, last stop, we leave the album on tiptoes, with murmurs wrapped in delicious piano notes."
